The food was absolutely amazing. My husband and I initially stopped in to pick up something from our daughter, but ended up having an impromptu pre-birthday dinner for myself. We sat at the bar waiting for our table and watch the sushi Chef create rolls, which I ended up getting the signature 1123 Huncho Roll after watching him artistically create each signature roll. I must say, it was absolutely delicious!!! My husband got the branzino fish and that was excellent too. I think I ate half his plate as well, LOL! And we truly adored our waitress, Alise, and the other staff who frequently checked in on us throughout our time there to make sure we were great. The manager was very attentive and personable ensuring we were well taken care of. This was truly a wonderful and amazing experience. I will definitely be coming back. 5 star quality!!!

Great food, well seasoned and plenty. We enjoyed ourselves. The service from the host to the waitress was excellent. The waitress was well informed about the inception of the restaurant and was very attentive. Dishes we had: seafood omelet, Korean chicken and Waffles, deep fried Deviled Eggs with chicken, and a seafood/grits dish (can't recall the name), but my mom loved it so that's all that matters.

We went to 1123 for brunch for our anniversary and it was amazing! We went very early so we had the place basically to ourselves! The staff was attentive. We were offered a special gift for our special day. Because this was our first time we ordered a lot to sample and were not disappointed it was all great! Our favorites were the Chesapeake and the omelet but in truth it all was great! And that dragon fruit margarita oh my! We will be back to try dinner!

I want to tell you that 1123 by Chef Tobias is a place to avoid just so I don’t have to fight for a reservation next time I’m in town. But that would be an outright lie. After having dinner there once, I was back for brunch the very next day—and neither meal disappointed. Chef Tobias has created a dining haven at his newest spot, 1123, and if the food we experienced during its soft opening is any indicator, this place is destined for greatness. At dinner, the standout dishes were the fried lobster tail with Jollof rice, the green curry Branzino, and the fried chicken. The dishes were bold, flavorful, and perfectly executed. Every bite made us eager to see what more the menu had to offer. Needless to say, brunch the next day was a must. Our party of five ordered individually at first, but as soon as the first bites were taken not one shoulder didn’t shimmy, we turned the table into a family-style feast. Everyone had to try each other's plates. The thick cut Brioche Strawberry French Toast , Chicken and Churro Waffles, Fish and Grits with crawfish, Chesapeake Seafood and Grits, and the Seafood Omelette were showstoppers. But the sleeper hit? The Smashed Crescent Avocado Toast with crab and a poached egg, which was technically an appetizer but left me ordering an extra to take home. And yes, even the leftovers had the same magic—the kind that makes you nod in approval with every bite, as my son did while finishing off my leftovers Chef Tobias has poured not just skill but soul into this place. The decor is a heartfelt tribute to his mother, adding a personal touch to the warm and inviting atmosphere. And the service? Flawless. A huge thank you to Mateo, Melissa, Q, Chef Red Beard, and of course Chef Tobias who made our experience unforgettable from start to finish. 1123 is a gem, plain and simple. Every dish sings with flavor and creativity, and the hospitality is just as satisfying. Trust me, it’s worth the trip. I’ll be back—just don’t be surprised if you find yourself like me trying to keep this one under wraps so we don’t have to wait months for a reservation after the grand opening.

Having been to Huncho House we (my grandma, mother and myself) wanted to go to Chef Tobias’ second restaurant in Hyattsville. We were very excited to go to continue our Mother’s Day celebration. Although we weren’t expecting just a brunch menu offering we were able to make adjustments to what we were looking forward to eating thanks to the recommendations of the general manager Mel and help of our server Elise (who both were great in their service to us). The vibe and atmosphere were perfect. As we were leaving we were able to meet Chef Tobias to round out the whole dining experience. Those Chicken Fried Deviled Eggs, OMG!!!! They looked so good when they came to the table we dug right in. I, myself could have eaten another 5 plates of them. Whether eating at Huncho House or 1123 by Chef Tobias you can’t go wrong. Two of the best dining experiences I have ever had in my life and I look forward to eating at both places again, eventually trying the full menu at both restaurants.

I had brunch at 1123 by Chef Tobias for Mother’s Day and was left very satisfied. This was an amazing choice. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host in a friendly manner who was then informed that we had a reservation. We were seated right away. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful. Our waitress was Alise and she was amazing. She was very friendly, answered any questions about the dishes and provided recommendations. We ordered the Chicken Fried Deviled Eggs as an appetizer which was so delicious. We also ordered the Churro Waffle & Korean Fried Chicken, The Chesapeake and Fish & Grits. Every dish was amazing. We had no complaints. The service was awesome! We will be returning sooner than later!

After seeing a few posts on Instagram, me and a friend decided to try this restaurant. I'll start this off by saying... WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK. The staff is extremely nice and attentive, not only to the customers, but also to details. We sat at the bar and I could see them hand washing and drying dishes, tossing utensils in order to not cross contaminate, the whole nine. I really appreciated seeing that. I appreciated the bartender and bar back's knowledge on food as a whole and not just what they serve. The noise level was amazing, I could hear the music, but it wasn't loud to the point where I had to holler for my friend to hear me. For food, we kept it light and had the Crab fries, the 1123 Huncho Fire Roll, kimchi collard greens, and the Mac n cheese. My only complaint is that the Mac n cheese could've used a bit more salt, but everything else was fire. The drinks were AMAZING. I had the Yuzu 75, a strawberry lemon drop shot, and a few of the Osaka 23s - which might be my new favorite drink!!! Next time I plan on trying the Apricot Side car! That looked so good. Thank you again to the staff! You guys did an amazing job.

This place is such a vibe! ATMOSPHERE: Dynamic and energetic with good music and culture-infused decor all around that just works. Great for just about any occasion - a date, a birthday party, a solo night out, etc. You can grab a spot at the bar if a table isn't available (reservations are your best bet though.) SERVICE: Exceptional. Ask for Ky-Ana. You will not be disappointed, trust me. She provided the best service I've received in a while. She was knowledgeable, attentive, patient, and professional. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and made us feel special even though we clearly weren't her only customers. The other servers/staff also seemed to be attentive and accommodating. If you're lucky, you'll get to see the GM Mel and/or Chef Tobias making their rounds as well - this is clearly their element and they know how to provide customers with an exceptional experience. FOOD: A really good fusion of African and Asian dishes. We recommend the 1123 Huncho Fire Roll (very fresh and delicious), Chuck Rice & Oxtails, Green Curry Grilled Branzino (keep in mind: it has a lot of bones and comes with the head on), Bread Pudding (limited quantity so ask for it when you get there), Osaka 23 (such a grown and sexy drink; the lavender gives it a really nice flavor), 1123 Punch (more on the fruity side but has a very nice smokey presentation when it's delivered to you), Coco Fatwash Old Fashioned (strong but smooth), and Dragonfruit Margarita (beautiful tropical presentation but very strong flavor - doesn't taste how it looks; it packs a punch). Highly recommend. We will be back!
